COVID-19: Our response

Tēnā ko tou

Following the Prime Minister's announcement about the move to COVID-19 Alert Level 4, I want to assure you that our team is well equipped to continue to support you through the coming weeks.

Our TAS COVID-19 Incident Management Team is focused on maintaining our ability to deliver to our customers through Alert Level 4. In addition, we have a separate DHB COVID-19 team focused on supporting our DHB partners and working with the Ministry of Health’s National Health Coordination Centre (NHCC).

interRAI services will continue to operate as normally as possible while Level 4 is in effect. interRAI staff are working from home and all meetings with you will be virtual (teleconference, Teams or Zoom). We are reviewing our work programme to ensure we can address changing priorities, and will keep you fully informed about any changes that could affect you.

In the meantime your contacts remain the same.

Ng
ā mihi nui,
Michele McCreadie, General Manager interRAI services.

Face-to-face training changes

In the unique circumstances we now find ourselves in, we are working on redesigning our service delivery methods  to ensure competency-based training can continue while New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 4. We have developed a new training package for Contact Assessment, which is a mix of self-directed and educator-directed content, which will be delivered via online training and Zoom.

A similar package is in development for Home Care and Long Term Facility Care assessment – we will let you know when this is available.

If you have any questions or concerns about training, please contact interRAI on 0800 10 88 44 or interRAI@tas.health.nz.

Kotahi two-to-one update

We’re progressing well with streamlining our software service so that it can be hosted at one location (Canterbury). The result will be a simpler, standardised system with a single database, and single sign-on.

Despite recent COVID-19 disruptions, our go-live date remains Monday May 4. In the meantime, we will keep you up to date with progress and what you need to do to prepare for the upgrade.

Remember, if you are already using the software that is hosted in Canterbury, this merge will have little impact.

Big data and the health of older people

This video of Michele McCreadie’s presentation at the HiNZ 2019 conference has some interesting insights about how big data can help with the health of older people. Take a look.
