127,000 interRAI assessments for older people
interRAI assessors completed approximately 127,000 assessments for older people during the year to June 2019.
Of those, 73,000 interRAI assessments were completed for people living in 667 aged residential care facilities across the country, along with 36,000 interRAI assessments by interRAI assessors visiting older people in their homes.
About 5000 health professionals are registered as interRAI assessors who have the required competencies to use the five interRAI assessments used in New Zealand.
Members of the interRAI New Zealand Board represent consumers, clinicians, health professionals, researchers, health informatics, aged residential care providers, home care providers and funders.
interRAI New Zealand this month published its latest annual report. The report shows some of the findings from the rich store of data collected using interRAI assessments, including case studies on oral health and loneliness.
