Service catalogue
Education and Support Services includes a national team of Educators and Systems Clinicians, supported by Northern and Southern Team Leaders and led by the National Services Manager, who deliver a range of education and support to interRAI users across the country.
This work includes, but is not limited to:
- Introduction and initial training to use interRAI
- Supporting trainees to reach competency in the use of interRAI
- Supporting competent assessors and managers to maintain competency
- Quality Review of assessors to ensure consistency and quality of interRAI use
- Supporting DHBs and facilities to extract, analyse and interpret interRAI data for care planning, current service delivery and strategic service development.
A small administration and support team manages the national training and competency programme, which forms part of the national work programme for interRAI Services.

Bookings for the following training courses can be done online through this website. Places are allocated according to urgency and you will be offered a place as soon as one is available.
interRAI Competency Programme
The options for completing interRAI assessment competency training varies according to the assessment type :
- 8-week courses comprise of online, classroom and work-based learning and evaluation that can take place alongside your usual work programme. The most frequently requested training programmes are for Contact Assessment (CA), Home Care Assessment (HC) or Long Term Care Facility Assessment (LTCF).
