Question:         How should I code for the main diagnosis with additional presenting paresis? For example, CVA/Stroke with hemiplegia; Multiple Sclerosis with paraplegia?

Answer:               Code for both the diagnosis and the resultant paralysis, for example CVA/Stroke and  Hemiplegia as one affects function and the other affects the person's  medical treatments
