General information

Welcome letter

We'll send you a welcome letter via email once your course booking is confirmed. This contains essential information about your training:

  • Date and time of training
  • Login details for interRAI Learning and Development (iL&D), our online learning system. This is where you'll complete your online modules, get access to helpful workbook units and receive educator feedback
  • Training programme details.

If you haven't received your welcome email, please check your junk/spam mail first, and if you're unable to find it please contact us

Manuals

Your employer usually has copies of the interRAI assessment manuals you need for your course. If you can't find the manuals you need, extra copies can be purchased.

Please ask your manager to email interRAI@tas.health.nz  to request these.

Check that you have the correct manual

Online training modules

For most of our courses, there are online training modules to complete either before your first day of training or during your training. These are completed in the interRAI Learning & Development (IL&D), our online learning system.

Please read your welcome letter and learning programme carefully, and contact us if you have any queries.

Technology

To complete your distance learning, you'll need the following:

  • A computer or laptop with a good internet connection and a suitable browser, e.g., Google Chrome, Firefox or Micosoft Edge.
  • Access to Zoom with sound and video activated, and popups enabled.
  • A quiet space to learn so you can learn without interruptions. A computer at a nurses station is not suitable for training.
  • A secure device: any computer or device used to access Momentum must have a client side certificate, an extra layer of security, added, to ensure data safety. To check whether your computer has this, click here to go back to our homepage, then click on ‘MOMENTUM ALL REGIONS’ at the top right of the page. If you receive a ‘page not found’ message, call the service desk on 0800 10 80 44, press option 1 and ask for a client side certificate to be installed.
  • To know about collecting patient information: The collection of information for educational purposes must comply with Tikonga Whanonga, New Zealand Nursing Council Code of Conduct(2012). This does not allow for the imaging of client medical records using a cellphone.

Course content

The course you are enrolled in will show you:

  • how to access the interRAI software system
  • how to create and manage a new client/resident record
  • information about the interRAI assessment tools
  • how to complete the clinical interRAI assessment you are training in
  • how to read and interpret interRAI assessment information
  • how interRAI assessments are used to support clinical decision-making

All courses are delivered by distance learning. In some exceptional circumstances an educator may deliver training in person - please let us know if you require this.
